WILDLIFE LOVERS

Looking for local wildlife? Cilgerran Welsh Wildlife Centre is just 30 minutes drive - set on a nature reserve. Offering many different hides and trails, this is a favourite of ours.

Head chef Gareth runs an outstanding cafe onsite where you can enjoy delicious hot and cold meals and cakes overlooking the reserve.

Featured in the program Springwatch in 2015 for it's "thigh rubbingly awesome bakes".

For a less well known nature reserve just 15 minutes drive, Llangloffan Fen owned by the Welsh Wildlife Trust, this is a small and secluded reserve. Watch dragon flies skim the surface of the ponds and listen out for the plop of water voles in the streams that surround the reserve.

WILDLIFE SLIGHTLY FURTHER AFIELD
SOMETHING FOR THE CHILDREN

Folly Farm, |The Dinosaur Park, Anna Ryder-Richardsons Manor Wildlife Park, Oakwood Theme Park & Heatherton, are all fabulous attractions for the entire family, all within 50 minutes drive from The Hide. There is something for everyone.

FOOD AND DRINK

Situated a few miles East - is Newport. A beautiful town offering restaurants, cafes, ice cream huts, a grocery shop and a produce market which runs once a week, there's plenty of choice.

Head West, and you will come to Fishguard, which has two super markets, pubs, restaurants, and numerous takeaways. We are happy to provide recommendations.

Skomer Island is famed for being a puffin paradise - yet there is so much more to see, including dolphins, Atlantic grey seal, razorbills, gannets, fullmars, and by night, manx shearwater. Booking online only due to the protection of the wildlife, there are limited spaces available but it truly is an unforgettable day out.
